Democrat Cronyism

In this New York Post article, NY Gov. Patterson raised some personal assistants salaries by as much as 46%, and other friends in his Administration with a minimum of 5%. This is after he cut the salaries of 130,000 State workers by 3%. In all, he gave approximately $250,000 to personal assistants and friends in his Administration. Corruption much anyone? Liberate our Republic, just another example of why it should be done.

The same thing is happening in the city of Moreno Valley. The city management staff have huge car allowances, big paychecks, and live cushy lives. However, they want the employees who are NOT making a lot of money to give up 2% of their income. Why should they have to pay for managements car salary? In tough times, they need to know where to cut the fat. I'm not saying they have to cut their pay because they've worked their way up. However, the cost cutting needs to come from all the fluff first. I've worked in offices where money is just hemorrhaged constantly, but the first place they want to cut is the people who are barely making it as it is. The Public Sector from the city to the federal gov't needs to start holding higher standards and accountability. It's not fair that someone who makes $11 an hour works their butt off to keep their job while someone who makes $35 an hour just kicks it because they have a "city job" and everyone is too afraid to fire them. These actions are unfair, unethical, and are just a branch of the tree of corruption that is plaguing our nation now.

Same in most Cities. Chief of Police or Fire is not uncommon to earn a quarter million a year. City Managers tend to make more than $200,000 a year with car allowances and sometimes even mortgage allowances like in Pasadena for example. Most upper management receive quite nice perks and don't suffer the salary cuts that lower management or blue collar staff suffer. It's similar to the hypocrisy of Pres. Obama chastizing CEO's of Ford, GM and Chrysler for flying to D.C. when he hops around on Airforce One to tote his "Economic Stimulus Package."
